11/17/12 - Blacks

Went down this morning from the Ho Chi Men trail.  Not much for surf today with the waves being really inconsistant, closed out, and knee to waist high range.  Only stayed out for about 20 minutes before calling it quits.

10/20/12 - Blacks

Walked down from Farms this drizzly wet morning.  Waves mostly crap with barley waist high sets and close outs.  Caught maybe two that were alright but other than that not much to speak of.  Clouds lingering and slight increase in the south winds to 5mph during the session.  Tons of seaweed on the inside as well.  Most of the swell coming mainly close from West @ 270 and shorter period stuff.  The swell picture taken below is from 1:30pm today and is already indicating a bit more southernly direction to it.  Possibility of some wind swell tomorrow but we will see.

9/23/12 - Blacks

Went down this Sunday morning at 6:00am for some groveling in really small surf.  Waves were knee to barley waist but the angle was a not quite right at 207-213 degrees, at 1.3-1.7ft, 13 secs.  Also another foot of a NW 264 degrees.  Met up with Russ and Tom after getting out. Water was warm but not much going on out there.  Dropping tide also not helping much either.

9/16/12 - Blacks

Pulled into the glider port around 1pm today for an afternoon solo session.  The parking lot was packed as all the nudies were out in full force with hot summerish sun.  Winds were a light onshore and tide was dropping to even at 4pm.  Not a lot of size today but with the new stick there were plenty of ridable waves.  Waves were mostly knee to waist with the occasional chest high coming through later. The water was really warm and clear today and you could see to the bottom when you were surfing.  With the water being so clear it actually kind of made it hard to judge and was a little distracting to see the shadow on the sea floor.  Caught a bunch of waves near north peak with hardly anyone out at first.  Probably because of the football games today as well as the Chargers starting at 1pm.  Buoy showing 2.5-3.1ft, 16 seconds, from 187-200 degrees.

9/17/12 - Blacks

Headed down this morning at the usual time before work and walked down the Farms Rd way for a change.  Waves we pretty small with most of them in the knee to occasional waist high sets.  Conditions were nice with no wind and warm and clear water.  Once Paul showed up it look like it was going to start getting better for about thirty minutes with the tidal push but one that came up it was over.  The rights were better with some fast make able corners around mini barreling shape.  TP buoy showing 1.7-2.2ft, 182 degrees, 9.3secs , and 3.4ft combined.  Looks like most of the steep angle south is just going right by San Diego.  High tide a 6ft at 10am with a swing of 5.5 ft.

9/6/12-Blacks

Headed down this morning from the GP not expecting a lot especially since the parking lot was empty.  Waves were really tiny and clean when I first got out but it started getting a little bit better with the tidal push with mostly knee to waist high sets, clean, and fast.  Hardly anyone out but friends with John on south peak and Russ and Paul joining in on the action later.  Thick seaweed on the inside that you would have to pull off after every wave.  Water was definitely chillier with it showing as 60 degrees at Scripps.  Buoy showing 1.9-2.4ft, 195 degrees, 14secs, and 2.9 sea height.  Tide was dead low at a 2.4ft at 6am rising to  4.6ft at 1pm.

8/31/12 - Blacks

Headed down this morning for a what looks like a repeat of yesterday sessions with the waves in the knee to waist but a bit less consistent.  Tide was also on the rise which a large 5ft blue moon swing.  Winds were calm and water was glassy as an oil slick but unfortunately the crowd was out early this morning and was out with Russ and Paul.  Danny was providing a sick airshow for the day with tails flying high and making it look super easy....must be nice.  Stayed on north peak again for about 2 hours until it was time to head to Peets.  Buoy 100 showing 1.2-1.4ft, with a mix of direction from 202-278 degrees, 11 and 8 seconds respectively.  Combined sea height at 3ft.  Swell is on the rise so we will see what is in store for the weekend.

8/30/12 - Blacks

Headed down from GP this morning at 6ish and on the walk down the conditions looked a little better than they actually but it was nice to actually see some waves again.  Size was in the knee to waist high range on the sets and really glassy.  When Russ and I paddled out we hit the peak north of the ho chi men and head that all to ourselves for about a half an hour until the swarm decided to paddled out on top of us.  Caught a few fun ones with a few racey rights.  The swell looked to be just the left over NW wind swell with short intervals.  Tide was dead low on the rise.  Tp buoy showing just under 2ft.

8/22/12 - Blacks

Headed down this morning around 6am from the GP and waves were pretty small overall.   Russ joined up shortly after getting out and we stayed on north peak for most of the session.  Just after the few people that were out left the waves looked like they were going to get fun with a couple waist high racey sets breaking into less than knee high water.  The visibility was super clear and you could see all of the bait fish and sting rays swimming around.   Tide was swing high at around 6am so that little push could have cause the fun little 10 minutes that we had. TP buoy only showing 1.5-1.9ft, 207 degrees, 15 seconds with primary swell at 2ft.

8/19/12 - Blacks

Paddled out this morning with Chris and headed down from the TP GP at around 6:30. Waves were in the knee - waist range with clean, fast little make-able lines.  We stayed mainly on north peak and almost to the ho chi men trail and had our own peak for about an hour when a few more people started coming out but the crowd still stay pretty spread out with a lot of people even further north then we were.  The was a ton a bait fish swimming around as well as a larger fishing vessel just off shore reeling them in.  The water so clear that you could see the ripples on the bottom of the sand and the temperature was nice and warm.  Over all nice morning with some fun little waves.   Tide was on it's way up and TP buoy was showing 2.2 - 2.7 ft, 192 degrees, 15.4 seconds and a 3.1ft sea height.
